We have decided to sell BusinessAndLearning and TheWAHExpo. We feel that it would be a huge benefit to all WAH’ers if it was handle by someone that works within your target market! We’ve both changed directions on where we are going with our own business. We decided it was time to give up our labor of love in order to make the Expo a bigger and better opportunity for all exhibitors, sponsors and participants, all dear friends of the Expo.

Yes to all the Mac owners out there, our very long wait for an upgrade to Office for Mac is finally over. Apple released today the brand new edition of Office for Mac 2008. I haven’t received my copy yet but once I do I’ll post a product review for all of you.

With Thanksgiving tomorrow (yippee!) I’ve been thinking about all the things I’m thankful for. I realized that outside of my family and friends, that I’m really thankful for technology products that makes our lives so much easier.

These are some of the things I’m thankful for :

1. Computers - I just love my mac! It makes all the work that I do so much easier and it works all the time, unlike my pc laptop that died just when I needed it to work. Computers have certainly changed over the last 20 or so years…

2. Cell Phones - How did we live without them so many years ago? My phone has certainly come in handy many times over the years. (like when I got stuck in the snow in MN) It also has made long distance communication much easier, especially with my family in LA/MN and when my husband is out of town or out of the country.

3. Twitter - I’m so very thankful for Twitter. Not only is it a great way to stay in touch with friends, business partners but clients as well. It is also a great way to bounce new ideas off of like-minded people.

4. The Internet - I’m really really thankful for this one! For without it, I would have a successful new media business, lots of great friends that are more like family, and of course my husband. (yes we met on the internet back in ‘97)

5. Our dishwasher - Yes a dishwasher is a very big thing for me. I despise doing the dishes and we lived for many years without one in our home. It’s a simple but WONDERFUL conveince to have.

Of course there are many other things I’m thankful for but that would probably make the longest blog post ever. For your benefit, I narrowed it down a bit.

Dave Winer of Scripting.com posted on his blog yesterday about how to use BlogTalkRadio to send TwitterGrams!

Here’s how you do it….

1. Decide which phone you want to use to call in TwitterGrams. The phone must have Caller ID.

2. Visit the new phone signup page. Enter the phone number from step 1, and your Twitter username and password.

3. When you want to leave a TwitterGram using your phone, dial 646-716-6000. Leave a short message, less than half a minute (remember the 200K limit). Hang up when you’re finished.

Don’t know what Twitter is? Twitter is a community of friends and strangers from around the world sending updates about moments in their lives. Friends near or far can use Twitter to remain somewhat close while far away. Curious people can make friends. Bloggers can use it as a mini-blogging tool. Developers can use the API to make Twitter tools of their own. Possibilities are endless!

If you have a podcast then you should really start looking at what corporate types advertise on radio. These big guys would make good prospects for show sponsorship for your podcast or other new media projects.

According to the Radio Advertising Bureau for the first quarter 2007, Radio’s leading growth top 3 categories were:

1) Communications/cellular/public utilities
2) Concerts/Theaters/Movies
3) Health Care

So if the focus of your podcast or new media project falls in one of these categories, then I suggest you get your media kit together, get your website in top form, prepare your sponsorship presentaion and start pitching to those corporations!
